Hello readers!
It has been literal YEARS since I posted on this blog. I wanted to update everyone and let you know I have not given up on my goal! Life happens and plans change, but I do want to keep you in the loop.
I no longer work in museums- in fact I am in school for my MBA and hoping to start work in marketing or merchandising once I graduate April 2019.
I am still visiting states! And have been adding photos from my journey to the blog's Facebook page.
Although the 5 years have passed (August 2016 has come and gone), I believe this can be bigger than I originally intended it to be. There are so many travel blogs with black women going to exotic places-- and don't get me wrong, I wanna to go exotic places too! I just happen to think there is a TON of fun, beautiful, interesting, important things to do here in America as well.
I'm still figuring out what the rebrand of this blog/my concept will be. A podcast? A better looking blog (I realize this site looks straight outta 2004 at best)? A book (that would be BOSS!)? I'd even consider creating a line of travel accessories or food products related to my journey. I'm just still figuring it all out (but would TOTALLY be interested in hearing your ideas! What can/should this be?!))
I'm actually overwhelmed with the thought of going back to relink all the photos from Facebook that now don't show on the blog. smh.
To date, my states visited (using the blog requirements) are: Alaska, Washington, Nevada, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, New York, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts for a total of 22 (24 if you count DC and Puerto Rico).
Still a long way to go, but so much further than I'd previously been!
